Unipheye Music and Bösendorfer Pianos – a marriage made in music!

Elkins Park, PA – 26September2007 – Unipheye Music, LLC is very proud to announce a relationship with Bösendorfer New York in order to capture the acclaimed Bösendorfer New York Concert Series for release.

The concert series takes place selected Thursday evenings in the elegant midtown salon of the distinguished piano manufacturer. It has been characterized as a destination for appreciators deeply dedicated to music.

Following the tradition established by Bösendorfer’s founding fathers, Bösendorfer New York has established a seasonal concert program, with the facilities functioning as an intimate salon style recital venue, with a strong following among high caliber artists and their highly appreciative patrons: music performed on and with a Bösendorfer, up-close and personal.

This upcoming season starts out with a solo evening featuring Valentina Lisitsa with an exciting program that includes the New York City premiere of the original solo piano version of Liszt’s “Totentanz” – and the inauguration of the WunderKind, a special Bösendorfer, meticulously restored and calibrated by Gerhard Feldmann, co-owner of Bösendorfer New York who recently celebrated his 35th Anniversary as piano maker and concert technician.

The “Bösendorfer New York Recordings” will not only bring amazing talent from all angles of piano artistry together, they are furthermore planned to be released as limited edition collectors series.

Ira Norman Segall brings a history with a wealth of skill to his recording label, Unipheye Music, LLC. A lifetime spent with the Philadelphia Orchestra at his doorstep, his father was a 31 season viola section member and Ira was a recording engineer for the orchestra in the 1970s and 1980s. Ira Norman Segall is a musician as well as an audiophile, and has worked in high-end audio, designing listening systems and rooms, while continuing to record music. Ira’s goal in starting Unipheye Music is to capture truly incredible players - the energy and passion of their performance, the tonal brilliance of their instruments - to thus provide music lovers with an intimate, involving listening experience. Mr. Segall is also a painter, photographer and writer.
